About the founders

Based in Northern VA, SQL Farms, Inc. was founded in 2005 by a group of software experts, for the purpose of helping database programmers, database administrators, and quality assurance engineers achieve better management and control over their SQL server environments.

For over a decade, the founders and developers of SQL Farms have mastered MS-SQL and Windows application development & administration, by maintaining a server farm of 150+ servers, with over 50TB of data and thousands of users, at a world leading 365 x 24 x 7 data mining center.

By utilizing the acquired software development, architecture, and DB administration skills, SQL Farms offers top quality development, deployment, testing and quality assurance (QA) solutions, for small, mid-size, and up to very large SQL server environments.

 

Board of Directors



Ron D. Wright, director
Mr. Wright is the president of JNetDirect, a leading provider of the JSQL (Java to SQL server) driver and reseller of top quality enterprise software solutions. Mr. Wright previously was the President and CEO of Neurosoft, Inc. a leading manufacturer of neurodiagnostic medical devices. He co-founded Neurosoft in 1988, sold the company to The Marmon Group in 1998 and remained as President/CEO until 2002. During this period, Mr. Wright established a distribution and sales network covering 65 countries and export sales totaling 65% of corporate revenues. He also acquired and served as Geschäftsführer of the Neurosoft subsidiary, DWL Elektronische System GmbH headquartered in Germany.

Mr. Wright was appointed twice by the United States Secretary of Commerce to serve on the New York Export Council and in 2002, he was appointed by Virginia's Governor Mark Warner to the Board of Directors of the Virginia Biotechnology Research Park Authority. Mr. Wright serves as Treasurer of the Park Authority and for JNetDirect. Mr. Wright also serves on the Board of Directors for several US and non-US companies in the technology industry and is an advisor to the Federal Technology Council in Washington, DC.


David Zerbee, Chief Legal Officer
Mr. Zerbee has served as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel for a number of Northern Virginia companies over the past 10 years. Most notable, Mr. Zerbee served as General Counsel for Vastera, Inc., an international software, information technology, outsourcing and services company in global trade management. Under Mr. Zerbee’s tenure, Vastera initiated two series of financing rounds, raising over $35 Million. In September 2000, Vastera registered on the NASDAQ exchange with an initial public offering raising $96 Million, while expanding its operations in 14 foreign countries and acquiring 5 domestic and international trade management companies. Prior to Vastera, Mr. Zerbee worked in a senior executive legal role for Anteon International Corporation, an international information technology and services company for federal, state, local and foreign governments. At Anteon, Mr. Zerbee was responsible for the global expansion of operations in the Pacific Rim and European markets, including a number of acquisitions. Other responsibilities included day-to-day legal issues, surrounding in connection with federal contracting procurement processes. Prior to joining Anteon, Mr. Zerbee was Senior Counsel for Software AG of North America, Inc. an international software and services company with operations in over 40 countries. His responsibilities included Corporate, Intellectual Property, Governance and Transactional matters. In addition, Mr. Zerbee assisted in Software AG of North America’s IPO on the New York Stock Exchange in November 1997.

Mr. Zerbee has been a speaker or panelist in a number of venues on topics including Corporate Transactions, Employment Relations, Intellectual Property and International Expansion.


Dr. Omri Bahat, Co-Founder, director
Before SQL Farms, Dr. Bahat served as a lead database architect at Symantec (formerly Riptech, sold to Symantec in 2002). In that position he was responsible for the development, change management, process, and database automation solutions in large SQL Server environments with over 150 servers, 50+ TB of data, and thousands of users. Dr. Bahat is a regular speaker in software conferences, code camps, and SQL / .Net user groups, as well as writes papers and articles for SQL Server Magazine. In his spare time he co-manages the Washington DC / Northern VA SQL users group and also manages the SQL Education Center™.

Dr. Bahat received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park, where he researched and published several articles focused on data management in large distributed systems.




Thomas C. Goff, Founder, Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Goff has been a recognized software expert for over 15 years. Prior to SQL Farms, Mr. Goff worked as a software architect at Symantec, responsible for the development and deployment of database applications and database management tools that handle over 150 database servers. Before Symantec, Mr. Goff has led several developer teams at AOL, and worked on various performance sensitive user applications.





Kyle Redinger, Board Member
Mr. Redinger is a Managing Director and co-founder of DeParis-Redinger, a progressive technology boutique investment bank. Before DeParis-Redinger, Mr. Redinger worked at Microsoft as an equity and commodity analyst in their $40 billion investment portfolio and later moved to the Acquisition Accounting team where he worked on over $500 million in technology and new media related acquisitions. Mr. Redinger also served as the sole finance analyst for BizTalk, a server application suite with over $100 million in revenues, during which he forecasted and analyzed revenues and drove key sales strategies. Before Microsoft, Mr. Redinger focused on merger & acquisition advisory at the University of Virginia, and performed consulting work for privately held companies across a variety of industries, with strong emphasis on the downstream energy and software industries.


Francesco DeParis, Board Member
Mr. DeParis is a Managing Director and co-founder of DeParis-Redinger, a progressive technology boutique investment bank. Prior to founding DeParis-Redinger LLC, Mr. DeParis worked at Microsoft to analyze and assist in the financial management of the Enterprise and Partner Groups, a $14B sales organization. Mr. DeParis then moved to work on Mergers and Acquisitions in Microsoft’s Treasury group. Most notably, he worked on $500M in transactions, working daily with executives of the respective acquisitions on their closing and integration plans. While working in the Internal Audit group, Francesco spent time in Beijing and Taipei consulting with sales and R&D subsidiaries to improve their performance. Before Microsoft, Francesco worked at L’Oreal USA in New York City as an Assistant Brand Manager, analyzing growth and market trends and preparing a marketing plan for several L’Oreal’s product lines.
